If it is not Rick Griggs, then it's not Rolestorming.
With the birth of Rolestorming in 1985, a million more ideas have come to light around the world than would have otherwise. In the 1980's Rick was working as productivity and training manger for the biggest tech companies in the Silicon Valley at the time.
Fresh out of graduate school, he quickly realized that typical brainstorming sessions were not as effective as they could be.
In order to take control of the room and focus on achieving goals, Rick started implementing a series of roles, rules and procedures. The outcome was remarkable. His people became engaged and enthusiastic. Their creativity was sparked and ideas came out of thin air. A storm of ideas became the norm. Productivity went up and company goals were met.
In 1989 Rick first published Rolestorming in his book, Quality at Work. Then in 2005 Arthur B. VanGundy praised Rolestorming in his book, 101 Ways to Teach Creativity and Problem Solving. From there Rolestorming's popularity has gone around the world. and is now considered the 1# brainstorming secret of billionaires!
You will find many articles and videos on Rolestorming, but only a handful of people are certified to use the official Rolestorming process.
